COVID Message

To Our Customers
In these times of uncertainty, we wanted to assure you that Sequoia is deeply committed to protecting the health and safety of our customers and employees. Sequoia is carefully following the guidelines established by the Center for Disease Control, OSHA, and the EPA to mitigate the transmissions of infectious diseases.

Prior to entering your home, our technicians will be cleaning and applying disinfectant solutions to the hoses and cleaning tools we will be bringing into your home. Our technicians will be donning personal protective equipment (“PPE”) such as masks, gloves, and shoe coverings. These extra steps are being taken to protect your family and our technicians, because we take safety seriously.

We look forward to restoratively deep cleaning your carpeting, rugs, hard surface floors and upholstered furnishings. We will be following the CDC guidelines and accepted industry standards of care, by using solutions that dissolve, dislodge, and extract soil and other unwanted substances.

Our onsite steam cleaning trucks can maintain 145 to 160-degree temperatures across all surfaces we are cleaning. This provides you with additional reassurance you are doing everything you can to maintain a safer and healthier home environment.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the CDC give advice about cleaning carpet?
The CDC specifically recommends the following process for cleaning carpets. For soft (porous) surfaces such as carpeted floor, rugs, and drapes, remove visible contamination if present and clean with appropriate cleaners indicated for use on these surfaces. After cleaning, use products with the EPA-approved emerging viral pathogen claims that are suitable for porous surfaces.

Can Sequoia disinfect my house?
Sequoia will help with the first step the CDC recommends, which is cleaning. The CDC states "Cleaning refers to the removal of germs, dirt, and impurities from surfaces. Cleaning does not kill germs, but by removing them, it lowers their numbers and the risk of spreading infection."

Cleaning will prepare you to follow the second step, which is disinfecting. The CDC advises, "Disinfecting refers to using chemicals to kill germs on surfaces. Disinfecting alone does not necessarily clean dirty surfaces or remove germs, but by killing germs on a surface after cleaning, it can further lower the risk of spreading infection."

So to summarize, cleaning helps remove germs and disinfecting helps to kill what
germs are left over.

Should I postpone my appointment until after COVID-19 no longer poses a serious threat?
Cleaning of visibly dirty surfaces is the first step the CDC recommends for the prevention of COVID-19 and other viral respiratory illnesses in households. Providing a cleaner, safer and more healthy living environment has always been one of the benefits Sequoia provides for their customers.
